According to data released by Japan’s Ministry of Finance, Japan’s exports of cold rolled steel sheets and coils totaled 217,686 tons in January, falling by 21.6% from a month ago and down by 3.2% year on year. Among them, 59,618 tons were exported to China, falling by 16.15% and 33,915 tons were to Thailand, rising by 14.2%, both compared to those in the same period of a year ago. In 2012, Japan’s exports of CR steel sheets and coils totaled 3.2 million tons, falling by 14.4% from 2011.
