The GSM power switch allow you to trigger power on and off to your network devices remotely using your mobile phone. Think about all the times that all you had to do was reboot a rack-mounted server (or any other piece of equipment) to get it working again. Think of a GSM socket as a large power strip with built-in intelligence. You plug the GSM socket into your site power, and then connect to the device. Next, program your mobile number into the GSM socket where you need to reach the socket remotely to issue a reboot command.
Simple !! That's really all there is to it. Now, when a piece of equipment freezes up, you can simply call to the GSM power switch. If you already program your phone number in the white list, the GSM power switch is intelligent to recognised your phone number and cut off without any call cost to you then it will trigger the 30A relay in the GSM rebooter, which will trigger power off to that device, then immediately turn it back on. That GSM rebooter just saved you a lot of time and effort traveling out to a telecom site or server room.
The GSM rebooter powered by the built in 12v DC power supply inside the cabinet where is gets the power from the AC mains. There is an on-board battery backup , this allows the unit to send a text message should be a power failure, if power is lost it will send the following message "Power Down" when power is restored the follow message "Power Restored"
The remote power socket has a mains AC power socket that the equipment to be powered and controlled is plugged into and an AC power supply cable that plug into an AC mains supply outlet . The unit is supplied with a universal power outlet that will accept UK, EU and USA plugs.
The remote power socket will supply with backup battery. This is important deployed in environments that must operate on battery backup power most or all of the time. You simply can't afford to have a power hog in those kinds of environments.
