In May 2015, 32.6% of smartphone sales in China were for HD units while 21.4% were for Full HD, according to a new report from Sigmaintell Consulting.
The HD and Full HD percentages both represented a 0.8pp on-month decline. WQHD smartphone sales meanwhile held a 2.2% share, up 2pp on month.
Approximately 42 million smartphones were sold in China during May, up 4.3% on month. Sales are expected to continue increasing in the third quarter of 2015.
Global smartphone shipments are expected to grow 11.3% in 2015, down from 27.6% in 2014, according to IDC.
IDC projects 2015 to be the first year in which China's smartphone growth, forecast to be 2.5% in 2015, will be slower than the worldwide market.
