Baker Perkins Develops Small Batch Depositor for Functional and Medicated Confectionery Sector

Baker Perkins has introduced new ServoForm Mini small batch / lab-scale depositor for the functional and medicated confectionery applications.

Developed for the functional and medicated confectionery sector, the ServoForm Mini applications include small to medium batch manufacture, new product development and production of marketing samples.

ServoForm Mini can deposit candy syrup or fruit paste into solid moulds at rates of up to 54kg per hour. It also provides flexibility to produce gummies, jellies, hard candy and lollipops.

The new depositor uses a starchless process with various hygienic characteristics, including solid moulds, non-contact ejection system and fully automatic wash-through function.

ServoForm Mini is said to provide effective production process, including mixing, cooking and depositing, for medicated and functional candy.

According to the company, ServoForm Mini uses the same process and control technology as larger systems, helping to maintain production volumes between 200kg and 1000kg per hour.

The nature of the starchless depositing process helps to create complete control across the system, resulting in high dimensional, shape and weight accuracy, negligible scrap rates and efficient wrapping.

Functional gummies and jellies can be fortified with different healthy ingredients such as fruit juices and real fruit pieces, while medicated products include ingredients such as antiseptics, menthol and eucalyptus oil.
