Bosch Packaging Technology is all set to introduce its pharmaceutical portfolio at TechnoPharm 2013 in Nuremberg, Germany. The portfolio includes Solidlab 1 and 2, the Manesty tablet press Xpress 100, and the high-shear mixer granulator Hüttlin Mycromix.
Novelties in inspection technology include the KKX 3900 inspection unit for filled capsules and the table-top device ETAC Easy View for visual inspection of containers that are filled with liquid pharmaceuticals.
The two process technology specialists Hüttlin and Manesty, which are part of the company's portfolio, have together developed the laboratory machines Solidlab 1 and 2 for the manufacture of tablets and pellets.
Solidlab 1 handles batches from 0.05 to 2kg and Solidlab 2 processes volumes from 0.5 to 12kg. The high-shear mixer granulator in the laboratory equipment range, Hüttlin Mycromix handles batches from 0.05 to 1kg.
Bosch's tablet press Manesty Xpress 100 is suited for research and development purposes, and its data acquisition system provides a platform for assessing new tableting formulations.
The company will also introduce its inspection unit KKX 3900, which is used for weight and quality control of filled hard capsules. It achieves an output of up to 220,000 capsules per hour and can be installed after any capsule filling machine.
Based on soft x-ray technology, the system inspects quality parameters such as weight and length of capsules with better accuracy.
Eisai Machinery's inspection technology portfolio includes manual, semi and fully-automated systems. Vials, ampoules, syringes and cartridges for particle contamination and cosmetic container defects are examined by the computer-bound visual inspection unit ETAC Easy View.
The unit has been designed for containers with diameters from 8mm to 50mm. Due to its compact design, the user-independent and fully validatable table-top device is flexibly applicable.
The Fast Air Lock ISS 1000, which will also be introduced, was developed for transferring pharmaceutical equipment into and out of isolators.
