The Lao Cai Province of Vietnam Is Gearing up to Host The 13th Vietnam

The Lao Cai province of Vietnam is gearing up to host the 13th Vietnam—China International Trade Exhibition scheduled to be held in the province from November 13 to 18.

Over 500 domestic and international firms, including textile and apparel, would be participating at the event organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s promotion agency and the Lao Cai provincial government.

At a press conference held in the capital city of Hanoi, Nguyen Thanh Duong, deputy chairman of Lao Cai province People’s Committee, said the event aims to develop economic cooperation between the northern province of Lao Cai and China’s western provinces, especially for new investments and to increase tourism.

The main objective of the event is to help businesses in Lao Cai province to boost trade activities, access new markets and source additional investment opportunities, he added.

The fair will have 700 booths, including 250 from foreign firms, showcasing a wide range of products including textiles, apparel and handicrafts.

A number of seminars will also be organized on the sidelines of the event for businessman from both the countries to meet and exchange views regarding the latest trends in various sectors including textile, apparel and handicrafts.

The event would run until November 18, 2013, as part of the National Commercial Promotion Program conducted by Vietnam’s Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE).
