Full ICEL members,Hochiki Europe manufactures the Emergency Lighting System in the UK;the system comprises an addressable emergency lighting control panel with battery back-up and features addressable,self-contained LED luminaires and signage connected via low voltage(24V)cabling–it is not necessary to install a 230V AC mains supply to each luminaire for monitoring or battery charging purposes,thereby saving significant installation costs.The luminaires are equipped with battery back-up which is charged through the low voltage cabling,making sure they will function in every situation,while the units fit directly onto a standard Hochiki sensor base making installation simple.
The light emitting diode(LED)technology that the system is based around is both cost-effective and environmentally friendly–in fact,it produces less than four per cent of the carbon emissions of fluorescent lighting.This makes the Emergency Lighting System a green alternative to other systems that are currently available and allows operating costs to be kept to a minimum without compromising the safety of a building's occupants.
