Some 58.622 million tons of cement were produced in the country during the past 10 months, showing an increase of 4.6 percent compared to the figure for the corresponding period of preceding year.
The secretary of the Guild Association of Cement Producers Abdulreza Sheikhan said that about 58.636 million tons of clinker were produced during the period, showing an increase of 4.4 percent compared to the figure for the same period of the past year, IRNA reported.
He said some 4.46 million tons of cement and 5.248 million tons of clinker were produced during Dec. 21, 2012-Jan. 19, 2013.
The official went on to say that some 58.95 million tons of cement were distributed in domestic market, indicating a growth of 6.3 percent compared to the figure for the year to March 2012.
He added that about 4.383 million tons of cement were produced in the current year.
