The Steel Chamber Argentina reported that steel production in November was 18.7 percent higher (395,400 tons) compared to November last year. The increase is largely explained by some plant outages made last year resulting from investment plans, furnace repairs and other extraordinary maintenance stops.
The cumulative production of the first eleven months of 2013 was 4.752 million tons, 1.9 percent higher than the same period last year.
Additionally, the country’s crude steel production in November was 1.7 percent below October values, caused by fewer working days in November even though the plants remained virtually the same production level as the previous month.
