Nintendo announced it has enhanced the backwards compatibility of the Wii U, enabling users to download classic Wii titles.
During the latest Nintendo Direct, Nintendo revealed it is improving the backwards compatibility with original Wii titles.
Nintendo has managed to reproduce Wii disc software and port them to the Wii U Nintendo eShop for downloading.
The gaming giant hasn't confirmed whether the digital versions of the Wii games will be enhanced for the Wii U in any way though.

The first Wii game available for download on Wii U is Super Mario Galaxy 2, which will be made purchasable later today.
Donkey Kong Country Returns will go live in the eShop on January 22, followed by the fantastic Metroid Prime Trilogy on January 29.
There are four other top Wii games arriving for download on the Wii U in the future too.
These are: Kirby's Adventure Wii, Pandora's Tower, Punch-Out and Sin and Punishment.
For the first week of availability on the eShop, each title will be offered at half price - £8.99.
After that each game will be available to download for £17.99.
