The Brazilian coil and sections producer, Companhia Siderúrgica de Suape (CSS), announced that it will start to construct the mill workshop late this year.
The rolling mill will be built in the northeastern state of Pernambuco. CSS expects to run its commercial operations in 2015.
In fact, the construction originally was expected to commence in September 2011 but the mill didn’t get the license at that time.
The investment requires BRL1.64 billion. The phase one which needs costs of BRL100 million can complete a capacity of 250,000 tons per year of sections, 1 million tons per year of hot-rolled coil and 600,000 tons per year of cold rolled coil. In the phase two, the mill can produce 200,000 tons per year of hot-dip galvanized sheet.
