Essentra Divests Consumer Packaging Site in Bristol, UK

Euro Packaging affiliate Broomco (4294) has acquired Essentra’s consumer packaging site, located in Bristol, UK.

Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

The Bristol facility is engaged in the manufacturing of printed paper bags and associated packaging solutions for the bakery and foodservice end-markets.

Essentra said the transaction will be immediately earnings accretive to the company and the net proceeds are expected to have an immaterial impact on the firm’s net debt position.

Essentra, which produces specialist plastic, fibre, foam and packaging products, operates three global divisions.

The divisions include component solutions, health and personal care packaging, as well as filter products.

The components business produces products such as lastic injection moulded, vinyl dip moulded and metal items.

It manufactures and distributes component solutions, including caps and plugs, fasteners, adhesives, sealants and tape, feet, casters and glides, wire and cable management products and others.

The health and personal care packaging division produces packaging and authentication solutions, including a range of artons, tapes, leaflets, foils, labels and brand protection security solutions.

The cartons, leaflets, self-adhesive labels and printed foils will be used in blister packs.

The filter products division offers a range of filters and related solutions for the tobacco industry.

With 49 manufacturing facilities, 64 sales and distribution operations and four research and development centres, the company carries out operations in 33 countries.
