The DIY-superstore sales channel Homebase of the British Home Retail Group suffered a decline in turnover in the 2012/2013 financial year (end of February) of 5.2% to £1.43bn. Adjusted for selling space, revenues were down by 4.9%. The concern reports that the backdrop to the decline was weaker demand for seasonal articles as a result of unfavourable weather conditions, especially in the first half of the year, as well as overall lower revenues generated by big ticket items.
