Caradvice Was in The UK Today to Get a Rare Peek at The All-New 2014 Range Rover Sport

CarAdvice was in the UK today to get a rare peek at the all-new 2014 Range Rover Sport before we get behind the wheel, tomorrow.

Developed alongside the acclaimed new Range Rover, the latest Range Rover Sport promises to deliver the brand’s best-ever on-road dynamics, along with class-leading off-road capability.

Launching in Australia in November, the new Sport will be lighter, faster, more practical and more technologically advanced than ever before.

The second-generation Range Rover Sport also boasts a first-in-class lightweight all-aluminium architecture, allowing weight savings of up to 420kg.

Its construction is almost identical to that of its larger Range Rover sibling, with both vehicles receiving a staggering 3722 rivets to their aluminium frames.

Overall, the Sport’s design is more about revolution than evolution, with the styling aligned to the Range Rover Evoque and fewer design cues from the outgoing model.

Inside, it’s more luxurious – the leather is suppler and the quality of the materials and switchgear has been further refined.

It’s also distinguishable as the first Range Rover model to offer a five-plus-two seating option.

All-new Range Rover Sport customers will have a choice of four engines; two supercharged petrol engines and two diesels. However, The powertrain line-up will be expanded at a later stage by the addition of a 4.4-litre 250kW SDV8 diesel version, as well as the availability of a diesel-hybrid model for 2014.

Check back with CarAdvice tomorrow for more on our initial thoughts and in the meantime, enjoy the image gallery.
