Google announced so much cool stuff at its October 4 Pixel event that a few neat things slipped under the radar.
One of them was the announcement Google Play Movies & TV would be getting 4K content alongside the release of the Chromecast Ultra dongle.
Well now, ahead of the official roll out, Google has started adding Ultra HD movies to the store.
Redditors (via AndroidCentral) have spotted Star Trek: Beyond, which is a great way to get things started, and Zoolander in 4K on the store.
However, you’re going to need a pretty big entertainment budget, because one movie is the same price as a month of Netflix and HBO Now combined.
The UHD Edition of Star Trek Beyond is a whopping $24.99 compared with the $12.99 HD and $9.99 SD version. If that seems excessive, it’s still cheaper than the $30 4K Blu-rays cost at most stores.
