Major Chinese miner Shenhua Group's commercial coal production in December reached 25.30 million mt, up 0.4% year on year, the company said Sunday.
Coal sales rose 4.8% year on year to 34.7 million in December, of which sales of self-produced commercial coal were 22.50 million mt, down 14.1% from the same month last year.
Shenhua, which is also a power producer, said its gross power generation in December was 22.13 billion kWh, up 5.8% year on year, while total electricity sold was 20.72 billion kWh, up 6.2% from December 2015.
For the first 12 months of the year, total commercial coal production increased 3.2% to 289.8 million mt.
Coal sales rose 6.6% to 394.9 million mt over the same period, the company said. Sales of self-produced commercial coal stood at 285.5 million mt over January-December, down 1.3% year on year.
Gross power output was 236.04 billion kWh for the year, up 4.5% year on year, while total electricity sold was 220.57 billion kWh, rising 4.8% from the same period last year.
