PEI to Take Direct Control of Canada Business

Perry Ellis International, Inc. a leading American designer, distributor and licensor of a broad line of high quality men's and women's apparel, accessories and fragrances, has announced that it is assuming direct control of the Perry Ellis men's bottom's and accessories businesses in Canada.

In a statement, PEI said it will begin shipping products to its retail customers starting with spring 2016 deliveries in January 2016. The company expects to leverage its successful, directly operated, men's collection sportswear by taking direct control of Perry Ellis men's bottom's and accessories and accelerating growth in Canada.

The license agreement with Grand National Apparel, Inc. for these product categories will terminate on Dec 31, 2015.

Chairman and CEO George Feldenkreis said, "While PEI appreciates the efforts and the fine work of Grand National, this is another step in achieving our strategic initiative to expand our profitable international direct business. Canada is a growing market for our company and we believe we can leverage our Canadian platform and serve our customer base directly within our core competencies."

The Perry Ellis brand offers a full lifestyle sportswear collection of men's jackets, shirts, trousers, knits, sweaters and outerwear and is sold internationally through major retailers and specialty stores.
