Nordic IT services company Tieto has entered into an agreement with packaging and paper company International Paper (IP) to deliver an MES solution based on Tieto’s standard SAP-based MES solution.
Initially, this MES system will be rolled out to about 26 North American sites which cover all of the production shop floor execution with connections into SAP's Extended Warehouse Management covering the complete manufacturing to delivery process.
Speaking about the partnership, International Paper senior IT manager Joseph Rahme said: "With our legacy MES approaching end-of-life, we sought out a solution that closely integrates with our SAP operating model while allowing us to adapt to new business requirements.

The agreement with International Paper is based on our standard SAP-based MES solution. This enables us to develop together with IP the most mature MES ever, which meets all requirements of the paper industry."
