Packaging solutions provider Multivac has unveiled plans to expand its manufacturing operations in Kansas City, Missouri, US.
The company will invest around $6.9m to expand its US headquarters in Kansas City, which is expected to create around 50 new jobs.
The expansion will allow to create an additional 32,000ft2 space, which will help the company to better leverage technology and other innovations to further modernize its manufacturing processes.
Missouri Department of Economic Development director Mike Downing said: "Companies such as Multivac continue recognizing the global advantages of Missouri in terms of access to market, cost savings, talent and more."
Multivac CEO Jim Campbell said: "We continue to expand and strengthen our presence in the U.S. market through our robust product lines and service offerings."
Multivac, which provides packaging solutions for food, medical, consumer and industrial products, has major food processor clients in the US.
The firm provides solutions to pack ground beef, deli meats and cheeses, as well as condiments and frozen food. It is also involved in pet treat packaging.
With global headquarters in Germany, the firm carries out operations in around 140 countries.
