The Imports Volume of Iron Ore Via Port Hedland Increases by 36.5 Percent in July

In July of the current year, iron ore shipments from Australia's Port Hedland fell four percent compared to June and were up 36.5 percent year on year, totaling 26.6 million metric tons.

According to the information released by the Port Authority, in July iron ore shipments made from Port Hedland to China amounted to 20.4 million metric tons, decreasing by 11 percent compared to June and up 36.6 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. Japan and South Korea followed China in July this year with 2.8 million mt and 1.8 million mt respectively.

Port Hedland handles production from mines owned by BHP Billiton, Atlas Iron and Fortescue Metals Group in the iron ore-rich Pilbara region of Western Australia.
