Omnitracs Europe has been acquired by Astrata Group, a Singapore based IT firm, from Qualcomm Europe. Terms were not disclosed.
"We are excited to significantly expand Astrata's presence in Europe with the acquisition of Omnitracs Europe," George Kappaz, Chairman and CEO of Astrata, said in a statement.
The acquisition was completed Jan. 13, according to Astrata Group, which provides corporations and governments with fleet management GPS services.
"With highly complementary geographic presences, the combined operations will truly have a global reach and in-house access to best-in-class technologies, enhancing our product and service offerings to our customers throughout the world," Kappaz said.
In November Vista Equity Partners completed its acquisition of onboard communications business Omnitracs Inc. and announced an agreement to purchase Roadnet Technologies Inc., a provider of fleet management software.
Vista's agreement to purchase Omnitracs was announced in August. At the time, Qualcomm valued the deal at $800 million.
