Mondi Industrial Bags, along with cement producer LafargeHolcim, has developed a new paper-based solution, called Splashbag.
The new paper-based solution can be used for the protection of moisture-sensitive filling goods such as building materials, chemicals and pharmaceuticals.
Launched in Europe, the Splashbag has been developed to deal with materials, which are regularly exposed to wet conditions or environments.
Mondi`s Advantage Protect sack kraft paper was used to develop the solution, which enables to maintain high strength even in wet environments
According to the company, the fully recyclable water- repellent solution provides increased wet strength, while matching the filling speed of standard paper bags.
The new solution will allow to handle and store without difficulty even after a few hours of direct exposure to rain or moisture ingress.

In June, Mondi Industrial Bags showcased paper-based bag solutions at the RosUpack 2017 event in Moscow, Russia.
The firm exhibited various paper-based bag solutions, which can be used in food, feed and seed applications. Mondi’s bag solutions will protect sensitive powdery filling goods and extend product shelf life.
