Vegetable Prices Continue to Rise During the Last 11 Weeks

Spokesperson of the Ministry said that domestic vegetable price will continue to rise in the near future. Before Spring Festival, market supply of vegetables that will not increase significantly and festival factors make vegetable's price remain high. But prices are easing.

Vegetable Prices Continue to Rise During the Last 11 Weeks

Data shows that from January 7th to 13th, wholesale prices of 18 kinds of vegetable from 36 large and medium-sized cities in the country rose 1.2 percent, higher than the same stage of last year.

Shen Danyang, Spokesperson of the Ministry, said that vegetable's prices rise at this time every year but the momentum of rapidly rising prices was brought under control. He said that vegetable growing area has been increased and the crops and vegetables are growing well. Therefore, we don't worry about lack of vegetable supply.
