Greiner Packaging Designs New Cup for Dairy Products Maker Bayerische Milchindustrie

Plastic packaging manufacturer Greiner Packaging has designed new ayran cup for dairy products producer Bayerische Milchindustrie (BMI).

The new plastic cup, which is the reminiscent of the copper cups, features metal-hammertone look and unique surface structure.

In 2015, Greiner first developed packaging for BMI’s ayran drink with the support of its in-house design and prototyping division DesPro.

Similar to the original cups, the surface of the new injection-molded cup is available with different sizes.

Greiner is offering the new 250ml cup in two color options, including the white and copper colors.

The company has designed the white cup for use at the retail level, while the copper-colored cup for use in foreign ethnic markets.

Greiner Packaging in charge key account manager Christian Platzer said: "Our goal was to bring the plastic cup as close to the design of the original cup as possible.

“However, transferring the characteristic hammertone look of the copper cups to a plastic cup initially presented us with a few challenges.”

With operations in 19 countries across the globe, Greiner provides plastic packaging solutions for the food and non-food sectors.

The company operates two business units, including packaging business unit with the product groups K and Kavo and assistec business unit.

Greiner produces various packaging solutions such as bottle, can, lid, container, cup, closure , tub and others.
