Germany-based Witt-Gasetechnik has introduced new simple and cost-effective leak detection system designed to detect leaks in packaging and components.
The Leak-Master Easy is designed to detect minute leaks in products, components or packaging for food items, electronic items such as lights for the car industry, pharmaceutical products, bubble wrap, PET bottles or other items made of PET.
Capable of being used for vacuum packaging, the new system is available in five new variants with chamber volumes ranging from five to 55 gallons.
Witt-Gasetechnik said that system uses compressed air to evacuate the air space above the water level once the test sample is placed in the water-filled chamber.
The resulting vacuum causes air or filling gas to escape from the leakage points and bubble up to the top of the chamber.
The detection method uses the quality tester to quickly and easily determine potential leaking of the product and from where, paving way for introduction of changes to the manufacturing and packaging processes.
WITT also offers a touchscreen-operated electronic control module which makes it possible to record, save and transmit all of the test results.
Additionally, the system allows users to undertake simple strength tests in the dry chamber and also perform altitude simulation tests on products required to be transported by air freight.
In 2012, Witt-Gasetechnik has added the new version of the 'Oxybaby' protective gas packaging to improve its mobile gas analyzer.
