GEW Introduces New Aircooled LED UV Curing System

GEW has introduced a new fully aircooled LED UV curing system for the label printing, coating and digital printing industry.

The aircooled LED UV curing system lamphead LA1 is compatible with existing ArcLED systems without the need for external chillers, pipes or coolant.

The LA1, which features the same proven cassette-based design of the E2C and LW1 lampheads, is a LED UV curing solution that can perform without the heavy infrastructure.

With an ArcLED system, the printers will carry out full hybrid UV curing by working with both mercury arc and LED lamp technology on the same press.

Mercury arc cassettes and LED cassettes both use the same lamphead casing ower supply and air cooling ducts.

When an operator swaps the required cassette, the Rhino power supply automatically recognises which type of cassette is installed in the machine.

Later, it will switch from low voltage DC power for the LEDs to high voltage AC for the arc lamps and changes the display on the RHINO touch screen control accordingly.

The ArcLED UV curing system is claimed to be the only futureproof technology for upgradeability of arc lamp to LED UV systems.

Printing presses that operate with ArcLED technology can be upgraded from arc lamps to LED to benefit from both technologies with the same power supply, controls and cooling system.
