Global packaging company, Sonoco will increase the price for all of its paperboard tubes and cores by 4%, effective with shipments in the US and Canada from 18 February 2013.
Sonoco Tubes and Cores vice president James Harrell said the increase is essential to recover its recently announced paperboard price increases and other inflationary inputs that are impacting its converting cost.
Recently, the company announced to raise the price for all grades of uncoated recycled paperboard products by $25 per ton beginning 11 February 2013.
Sonoco, which has annualized net sales of about $4.5bn, provides a variety of consumer packaging, industrial products, protective packaging and packaging supply chain services.
