US-based polyolefin materials manufacturer LyondellBasell has expanded its Toppyl seal-peel packaging portfolio with the addition of the new Toppyl RC3000.
The Toppyl RC3000 compounds are based on polybutene-1 (PB-1) and used by the converters, packers as well as packaging designers to produce easy-to-open packaging systems for consumers.
According to the company, the Toppyl grades offer improved safety, convenience as well as reduced packaging opening forces.
LyondellBasell PB-1 specialties marketing manager Stefano Pasquali said packaging must be practical, safe and easy to open without the need for a cutting instrument.
"Toppyl RC3000 provides a strong seal to keep foods fresh for easy storage and handling of delicate food, including meat, fruit, vegetable and cheese," Pasquali added.
Toppyl resins allow converters to implement fully formulated product for the entire sealing layer, without the need for blending with polyethylene and also offer simple solution for seal-peel applications.
