Bosco Sport Italy SRL, manufacturer for Russian apparel giant, Bosco Sport, which is the official supplier of Olympic uniforms for the Spanish, Ukrainian and Russian Olympic teams, has implemented YuniquePLM from Gerber to help meet its commitment to deliver Olympic uniforms, sportswear and leisure apparel to their 65 retail stores.
Stefano Montanari, CEO of Bosco Sport Italy, said, "YuniquePLM has enabled us to standardize the business cycle that was previously more fragmented and to have better control over our line of sportswear and leisure fashions." With YuniquePLM, Bosco's largest customer in Russia enters a sketch into the system along with the details and the engineering department in Italy is able to quickly get the product into production."
Bosco Sport Italy uses the Galileo ERP system developed by Sanmarco Informatica Spa. Because YuniquePLM integrates with Galileo and other ERP systems, Bosco Sport is able to eliminate redundant work by importing materials into YuniquePLM from Galileo and export finished product styles and bills of material.
"We wanted a system that would ensure consistency in all phases of our product lifecycle and would enable us to collect information and easily access data to help us make informed business decisions," Montanari added.
Bosco Sport's parent company, Bosco di Ciliegi, has annual sales of 600 million euros ($794 million). The company is targeting organic sales growth of about 20 percent a year. Last year, revenue grew 24 percent.
Bill Brewster, vice president of Global Sales and Marketing for Gerber's YuniquePLM software said, "With Bosco Sport's plan to continue their aggressive growth, they needed an industry-leading system to help get products to market faster, at lower cost while upholding their brand image.
We implemented YuniquePLM and had their technical designers using it in less than two months. Across Europe, in the last 18 months alone, more than a dozen companies have chosen YuniquePLM to improve the management of line plans, tech packs, samples, costing and relationships with suppliers. We are proud that this well respected brand has chosen Gerber as a partner."
Earlier this month, Bosco Sport opened its first U.K.-based outlet on one of the main thoroughfares accessing London's Olympic Park. It is the retailer's 65th own-brand store, and the first outside of Russia or Ukraine.
In 2009, Bosco Sport signed a licensing deal worth more than $100 million with the organizers of the 2014 Sochi (Russia) Winter Games to become their official clothing supplier. The company will also supply athletes' uniforms for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
For more than four decades, Gerber Technology has been the world leader in providing sophisticated hardware and software systems to automate and more effectively manage the product design and manufacturing process.
