The Infant Formula Exporters Association announced that Chinese authorities have rejected 270 tons of baby formula,of which 135 tons was from Australia and New Zealand.

About three-quarters of the substandard imports were baby formula,of which 26 tons of Ioland formula was made in New Zealand.

Manufactured by an Auckland-based contract producer Sutton Group,Ioland formula was rejected as it had less iodine content which may lead to iodine deficiency that may cause reduced growth and mental impairments in infants, reported nzherald.co.nz.
