Finland-based Oy Roberts has appointed DB Schenker Logistics for the storage and distribution of their food products such as jams, marmalades, fillings, dessert sauces and flavors as well as raw materials and semi-manufactured product supplies for bakeries.
Oy Roberts managing director Mikko Roberts said that in order to focus on the company's core business and gain flexibility in terms of resourcing, space and warehousing requirements, it decided to look for a partner providing it with a full logistics solution.
"DB Schenker was able to provide us with a good complete package," Roberts added.
The Roberts products will be stored in a facility located in the DB Schenker logistics center complex in Turku.
The 2,600m2 temperature controlled warehouse with +5oC and +18oC will be used for Roberts logistics operations such as sample taking and special packing.
Schenker Cargo managing director Jouni Sopula said that the company at its Turku logistics center offers services to the automotive industry, household goods business, and now fast moving consumer goods.
In November 2012, DB Schenker opened a new 24,500m2 logistics center in Nurmijrvi, Finland, to focus on the automotive industry.
