India's Basic Metal Output Decreases by 2.9 Percent Compared to November 2012

In November last year, India's industrial production decreased 2.1 percent year on year, according to government data. Industrial production in the April-November period this year decreased 0.2 percent year on year.

Production in India's manufacturing sector decreased by 3.5 percent in November compared to the same month of the previous year, while in the April-November period the Indian manufacturing sector saw a 0.6 percent year-on-year drop in output.

The industrial output index in India's basic metal sector in November last year decreased by 2.9 percent compared to November 2012, while the output index for fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, fell by nine percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the April-November period the output index for basic metals fell by 2.8 percent, while the output index for fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, declined by 7.5 percent, both compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

On the other hand, output of the industry segment of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers declined by 10.7 percent year on year in November.
