Local reports Friday indicated that Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co. purchased Haskins Steel, a service center based in Spokane, Washington since 1955.Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
Haskins Steel, which reported net revenue of $31.5 million in 2012, processes and distributes steel and aluminum products throughout the Pacific Northwest; Reliance company spokesman Lasse Glassen said the acquisition will give Reliance a "beachhead" in the region.
According to Reliance, Haskins Steel's name and brand will be maintained to ensure continuity with regional customers.The acquisition marks Reliance's 56th since 1994.
