Food packaging and processing company Tetra Pak has announced the launch of a new shape for its Tetra Brik Aseptic carton packaging, offering brand differentiation opportunities.
The new version, which has two crystal shaped panels on the pack's front side, has been designed to provide customers with more graphic designs, and is helpful in differentiating brands.
Tetra Pak product director Manuel Calderon said the new packaging enables food producers to bring distinctiveness to their brands through a low-cost, retrofittable solution.
"As consumers have less time to choose from an increasingly wide range of products, differentiation becomes more important to brands," Calderon added.
In order to introduce its new version of Tetra Brik Aseptic carton packaging globally, Tetra Pak has completed a successful field test with dairy products manufacturer Mengniu.
The pack's new shape is said to help retailers stack and distribute packages in an efficient manner.
The consumer research in China and Pakistan has shown that the new packaging performs better in package design, visual appeal and functionality.
According to the company, the higher paper content and increased renewability make the package environment-friendly.
Tetra Brik Aseptic 250 Base Crystal is retrofittable on existing TBA/22 filling lines. The launch on Tetra Pak A3/Speed lines is set to commence in 2015, enabling any customer to launch the new package.
