2013 BMW X3: Specification Upgrade Boosts SUV Value

The 2013 BMW X3 has received a host of extra features that see the value of the premium SUV range increase by up to $8000.

The entry-level BMW X3 xDrive20i and xDrive20d variants upgrade to 18-inch alloy wheels and gain an automatic tailgate, electric seats with memory function, and the Business Navigation system.

The higher-performance BMW xDrive28i and xDrive30d variants now score 18-inch Y-spoke alloys, bi-xenon headlights, anti-dazzle and auto-folding side mirrors, the Professional Navigation system, Top View monitor, smartphone connectivity with extended Bluetooth functionality and voice control, and lumbar support.

The xDrive28i also adds an automatic tailgate (already standard on the xDrive30d) and the X-line design package as standard.

The specifications enhancements will be available from April production and come with no price increase.

BMW Australia sold 2500 X3s in 2012, up 18.9 per cent on the previous year. It ranked second in the highly competitive $60K-plus medium SUV segment, trailing the Audi Q5 (2830 units) while outselling the Range Rover Evoque (2496) and the Volvo XC60 (2179).
