What do fake Louis Vuitton handbags, Rolex watches, "vintage" Bordeaux wines and Pegasus Advanta SUV tires have in common? They are all counterfeit, according to Consumer Reports.
At least that is what CR Senior Associate Autos Editor Eric Evarts says in a recent report on www.consumerreports.org.
"What began as a routine tire test became a journey through a maze of deception, finger-pointing, and a lack of accountability that in itself could prove dangerous if the product should prove to be defective," he wrote.
Intrigued Modern Tire Dealer Editor Bob Ulrich was, too. He looked into the situation, and with help from American Pacific Industries Inc. (API) found out the real story.
Find out what happened in Ulrich's latest blog, "Counterfeit tires find their way into a Consumer Reports test."
