Foxconn reportedly registers solar subsidiary in China Nuying Huang,Taipei;Jackie Chang,DIGITIMES[Friday 28 September 2012]Foxconn Electronics(Hon Hai Precision Industry)has registered its solar subsidiary in China,according to news reports from China.The solar subsidiary will mainly produce solar cells and modules.
As China-based vertically integrated solar firm Suntech faces financial,legal,and business troubles,Foxconn has been aggressively entering the market,said the reports.According to research institutes,the total accumulated debt of China's top-10 solar firms has reached US$17.5 billion.Suntech recently received delisting warning from the New York Stock Exchange(NYSE).
The reports added that Foxconn's solar subsidiary has begun recruiting R&D engineers for solar modules and construction workers for setting up solar PV systems.
