Finland-based global supplier of pressure sensitive label materials UPM Raflatac has launched a selection of label stock products for wet wipes applications in Europe.
The company has released adhesives combined with Clear and White PP label faces in different thicknesses to meet resealable labelling needs in personal care, home care and industrial applications as a part of the RafCare range.
The variable thicknesses of clear and white filmic label faces make it easy to provide appropriate grades of stiffness and flexibility according to the package type.
UPM claimed that its RafCare products resist oils, water and organic liquids including ethanol and isopropanol.
The new RC 13 adhesive that the company calls the highlight of the range comes with precision performance for open-closure labelling in personal care end-uses. It is soft and smooth with an extra-quiet peel that makes it desirable for personal care products where it is important to have discreet and convenient opening.
Compared to traditional solvent-based adhesives, UV-acrylic RC 12 and RC 13 adhesives do not produce any Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs) and use only a fraction of the energy during labelstock production which makes the range suitable for meeting the consumer's expectations for safety and sustainability.
While the label faces on the products can be recycled with plastic packaging, the paper glassine liners can be recycled through UPM Raflatac's RafCycle program.
UPM Raflatac specialises in developing and producing self adhesive label materials for product and information labelling.
The company is a part of UPM-Kymmene that produces pulp, paper and timber and was formed by the merger of Kymmene Corporation and Repola and its subsidiary United Paper Mills in 1996.
