Japan’s Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corp. (NSSMC) announced that Nippon Steel Pipe Indian Private Limited (NPI), a joint venture owned by NSSMC and Thailand’s Siam Nippon Steel Pipe Co., Ltd. (SNP) has begun commercial production of automotive steel pipes in India in June.
It’s learned that the installation of pipe-making and cold-drawing equipment was completed by the end of 2012.
Meanwhile, the plant is expected to produce 2,000 tons of structural steel pipes and tube for automotive sectors annually.
