The Base Metal Export of South Africa Valued up 3.4%

According to data released by the South African Revenue Service (SARS), in November this year the value of South Africa's exports of base metals and articles thereof totaled ZAR 10.95 billion ($1.04 billion), increasing by 3.4 percent from the previous month. In the first 11 months of the current year, South Africa's export value of base metals and articles increased by 11.2 percent year on year, reaching ZAR 102.07 billion ($9.71 billion).

In November this year, the country's imports of base metals and articles thereof amounted to ZAR 4.18 billion ($397.64 million), down 14.6 percent from October, while in the first 11 months of the year South African imports of base metals and articles thereof rose 24.7 percent year on year to ZAR 46.24 billion ($4.40 billion).
