The Protective Glazing Council (PGC) International has announced that it will hold an hour-long webinar on Friday, February 15, at 1 p.m. EST. The webinar will feature Nick Loomis, PE, manager of technical services for the Pittsburgh Corning Corp., and Bill Vaughan, North American sales manager for the Pittsburgh Corning Corp. The presentation will focus on a two-piece aluminum framing system used as a blast-resistant and hurricane-resistant window system, a metal-grid system used in ballistic resistant systems, forced-entry resistant window systems and tornado-resistant window systems, as well as testing information for glass block products.
The webinar is free to attend and will be designed for architects, building owners, specifiers, glazing contractors and others in the architectural community.
“Many architects and designers are familiar with the versatility of glass block, which is traditionally considered a masonry product,” says Brian Pitman, director of marketing and communications for the organization. “The presentation by Nick and Bill will showcase the use of this aesthetically-pleasing product in a high-performance window system application, which is exciting.”
Loomis earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. Vaughan has more than 30 years’ experience in the construction industry.
