The entrepreneurs from Peruvian Gamarra commercial garment market have successfully discussed collaboration plans with representatives of major American apparel stores during their recent visit to the US.
As part of the first collaboration plan, the traders of both nations agreed to establish garment and apparel trade between Peruvian district of La Victoria and the Paterson city of New Jersey, according to andina report.
The clothing firm owners form Gamarra travelled to New York and New Jersey, and participated in ‘Trade Mission Gamarra Fashion Show in USA 2013’ and the ‘Gamarra Fashion Night’, organized by the Peruvian magazine ‘BIZ!’.
At the fashion events, the Gamarra apparel traders showcased their clothing lines which included menswear, womenswear, fashion garments and casual sportswear.
The event was a part of the multi-sector strategy ‘Me Pongo Gamarra’ that saw participation of more than 1,000 Gamarra traders and was supported by Peru’s National Industrial Training Service (Senati) and the committee for Textiles and Apparel of the National Society of Industries (SNI).
One of the aims of the multi-sector strategy was to identify the level of innovation and talent among the Peruvian garment entrepreneurs.
