Sentinel Barrier Cupstock will be available between a wide range of .012 - .020 inches and has been designed to meet a range of category-specific oxygen and moisture barrier requirements.

The new product is claimed to be suitable for direct converting applications and offers good print quality performance, while providing high level barrier to preserve the freshness of the product and extend their shelf-life.

The company claims that its line of Sentinel paper and paperboard products have been designed to be useful in a wide range of food service and retail food packaging applications. These can be customised to meet converter and brand owners’ barrier and shelf-life demands.

The products can be configured into a variety of formats including cups, trays, plates, ovenable board, cartons, flexible packaging and box liners.

Evergreen Packaging Paperboard Sales vice president Chris Johns said: “As demand for sustainable packaging continues to rise, we're committed to innovating our product lines to introduce new, cost-effective options to the food service and retail packaging industries.

“Our new Sentinel Barrier Cupstock leverages our deep barrier technology expertise to provide customers with a high performance, sustainable packaging option for the retail food cup market.”

Evergreen Packaging says that it is focused on the development of new fiber-based products to meet business goals of customers and sustainability preferences of consumers.

The company claims that its Sentinel Barrier Cupstock is a sustainable packaging option as it’s made with renewable materials and energy.

About 80% of the product uses paper from trees which comes from forests where responsible forestry practices are employed.
