Serac Has Taken 363 Sqm of Space at Interpack, Across Two Floors

Serac has taken 363 sqm of space at interpack, across two floors. It has rather a lot to show you. If you're interested it will send you free tickets to interpack.

The company will be showing off its flagship products. The Combox-H2F, for example will be demonstrated five times per day.

The Combox is Serac's new blow-fill-cap unit that packages 50g portions. This Serac unit responds to the economic needs of smaller manufacturers as well as the growing consumer demand for on-the-go products.

Here's an example: In Brazil, the Combox is being used to package yoghurt in an appealing fruit-shaped PET flask. Meeting its challenge - blowing and filling such delicate packaging – has allowed Serac to offer new capabilities now to dairy manufacturers to develop unique single portion packaging.

The Combox' first advantage is precision: The Brazilian container is blown from a PET preform of just 2.3g, with nearly half of its mass concentrated in the neck, so the fruit-shaped flask requires an extremely high expansion rate - 16 (4 times in both length and width). On such tiny preforms, Serac's SBL blower from Serac responds with a high level of precision in heating, stretching and blowing operations.

The second advantage is stability: The 100% positive neck transfer system patented by Serac ensures that containers move along the process without ever touching each other - a must to avoid any damage. Based on a starwheel system that compensates for the difference in pitch between the blowing and filling functions, it allows the direct coupling of the SBL blower with any rotary weight filler.

The third is filling accuracy: With a neck diameter of 20 mm, the slightest deviation under the filling nozzles can have dramatic effects. So Serac has included a servo-driven device in its transfer system that ensures top-of-class positioning and filling accuracy.

The fourth is cap design: A 20 mm sealed cap would have been almost impossible to open, so Serac designed a specific, oversized aluminium strip together with a new die press tool to create a user friendly cap solution.

What else is Serac showing? The Roll N Blow, a new way to make bottles that requires less equipment than a conventional moudling unit - demonstrations on demand. The Nova Dosing System that allows creativity into dessert packaging. It is this machine that makes Chobani's five layer yoghurt, for example. And the FC Filler-capper, whose highlights are its ultrafast change-overs to facilitate packing of multi-product, multi-packaging shapes.

In the Life Cycles exhibition, Serac will show its Multiflow nozzle, FCS+ ( PC / touch screen) and a capping head with brushless motor (eTCS).
