Traxon Technologies, a global leader in solid state lighting and control systems, today announced that is has been named a winner in the second annual Production Innovation Awards (PIA), presented by Architectural SSL Magazine. A testament to its industry leadership and innovative technologies, Traxon Technologies received awards in two categories, “Best Renovation/Retrofit using SSL” and “Cove/Linear/Wall Wash.” Traxon Technologies, known for state-of-the-art LED lighting and control systems and solutions, earned the award for “Best Renovation/Retrofit using SSL” for the installation of its Shield AC XB fixtures in Rio de Janeiro’s historic Christ the Redeemer Monument. The Traxon lighting system installed is not only powerful, but exceptionally energy efficient, creating a brilliant atheistic to the renowned monument that has overlooked the city for 80 years. The PIA judges commented that the retrofit was a “beautiful project” and stated that the installation was a “great update to lighting one of the most famous monuments of South America.” In the category “Cove/Linear/Wall Wash,” Traxon Technologies’ Cove Light AC Dim was honored among the best of the best. Cove Light AC Dim, a cost efficient and energy smart solution, is a versatile tool suitable for a wide range of applications in architectural, hospitality and residential environments. The judges commented that the fixture was a “good product with a thin profile,” and recognized the in-system driver and ability for standard dimming.
