Coffee and tea capsules manufacturer Dualit has introduced new capsules that are claimed to protect and preserve the taste and freshness of coffee.
The new patented, airtight and sealed coffee capsules have been designed in response to consumer demand for less packaging to minimize waste.
Compared to the previous Dualit coffee capsule packaging, the new capsules contain 60% less packaging material, the company said.
The launch is in line with the company's strategy to develop sustainable products.
Available in four aromatic blends, the colored capsules are compatible with Dualit and Nespresso machines.
Dualit's sealed capsules will be available for sale from supermarkets as well as independent cookshops.
The company operates a facility in West Sussex, the UK where it develops and produces its own capsules.
It is investing over £1.5m in its production plant to ensure quality is achieved at every stage of the production process.
Wirral Sensory Services, on behalf of Dualit, conducted a survey on Nespresso owners.
Figures released by the survey show that around 84% of the Nespresso owners prefer to purchase capsules at the same time as their groceries, so to provide the ultimate in shopper convenience.
