Norway's DOF Group reported Thursday that Petrobras has extended its contract to use the Skandi Vitória pipe-lay vessel for two more years from September 2013.

The Skandi Vitória is owned through a joint venture formed by DOF Subsea and Technip. The vessel is the first pipe-lay vessel built in Brazil and is equipped with vertical and horizontal pipe-lay systems, a crane and two remotely-operated vehicles.

The vessel is capable of operating in water depths of up to 9,850 feet.
