Turkey’s imports of steel flat products including hot rolled, cold rolled, coated and narrow strip steel totaled 575,371 tons in April, up by 1.5% from a month ago and increasing by 54.2% year on year, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). In April, the country’s import values generated by steel flat products totaled US$392 million, rising by 3.7% from a month ago and jumping by 41.9% year on year. In the first four months, the country’s steel flats imports totaled 2.1 million tons, jumping by 42.3% year on year. In the given period of time, Russia was the largest exporter of steel flats with 476,101 tons; Ukraine was the second largest one with 393,296 tons and France was the third largest one with 303,424 tons.
