Solar conductive paste maker Giga Solar has stated that its subsidiary has obtained a contract for a solar PV system project from the Tainan municipal government in southern Taiwan. The system installation will be close to 1.5MW.
In addition to the 1.5MW solar PV system project, the firm already completed a ground-mount solar PV system installation of 1.2MW in Tainan in mid-2012. Giga Solar's subsidiary plans to complete this new 1.5MW rooftop solar PV system installation in the first quarter of 2013.
Giga Solar noted that due to the weather condition and the Christmas holidays, demand is usually weak during the end of the year. Hence the firm has been eager to obtain domestic solar projects. The firm plans to bid for 3-4MW of solar projects from Taiwan's Bureau of Energy in 2013.
