According to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), the country’s imports of stainless steel coils totaled 39,632 tons in October, decreasing by 5% from a month ago but jumping by 43% year on year.
Meanwhile, the country’s import values generated by stainless steel coils totaled US$89.2 million in October.
In October, Korea was the largest exporter of stainless steel coils to Turkey with 10,038 tons, driven by the free trade agreement between Turkey and Korea, in force from May 1st.
Taiwan was the second largest one with 5,882 tons and Italy was the third largest one with 5,012 tons.
In the January-October period, Turkey’s imports of stainless steel coils amounted to 390,428 tons, jumping by 30.5% year on year.
